So, I am officially heading to Chicago this year for BlogHer 2013! In previous years I was ridiculously overprotective of my kids my children were just too young for me to leave for a couple of days. After a quick test trip – 3 blissful days in LA for Oz: The Great & Powerful – I realized they would be just fine without me for a short time. It’s still scary though…
I decided to self-sponsor rather than find a brand sponsor. I tried finding a sponsor last year and decided that if I was going to go, I would want to go for myself and not under the umbrella of a company. In the past there have been a ton of stipulations through BlogHer about sponsored attendees. Plus your sponsor might want you to host a room party, pass out swag, or have their company information on your business cards or literature.
Well, I am going for ME. nobody else. So who better to send me than, well, ME!
Why am I going? I want to connect to brands and to bloggers. Of course I want to learn things like SEO, maximizing my traffic, and monetizing, but I opted to get the Expo and Party Pass so that I am not worried about going to workshops. I do plan on doing workshops in the future, but I feel like it might just be overwhelming of my time there. It’s all about brands and bloggers this time around.
Are you going? Have you gone? Any advice you can give? Because I kinda feel like this right now…

We will definitely chat through all of this and before you go. I learned a lot last year. So much that this would be a ridiculously long comment if I told you it all. Good call on getting the expo pass only. Honestly, I wish I would have done that last year and saved some cash.
